“The best idea is useless if it isn’t communicated.”

Progress in science is based on mutual exchange and competition between different research groups around the world. Similarly, the public, which funds many scientific projects, expects researchers to share the results of their work.
IDC researchers are very active in publishing their work. They regularly present their results at the world’s most important conferences in their fields, such as the IEEE Global Communications Conference (Globecom), the IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), or the IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT). The contributions of IDC researchers have been well received and have won a number of awards.
Numerous articles by IDC authors have been published in the most prestigious journals in the field of communications technology, including IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Information Theory and IEEE Communications Magazine.
Since 2011, more than 850 articles have been published with contributions from IDC authors!
The publications of IDC researchers are highly regarded in the scientific community. This is reflected in the high number of citations (some IDC researchers are among the most cited researchers at FAU and worldwide), and a number of awards show the high recognition of their work.
In addition to their role as authors, IDC researchers are regularly active as editors of journals or programme committee members of conferences. IDC researchers also regularly organise international conferences in Erlangen.
An overview of IDC publications (all of them peer-reviewed!) can be found on this website (see menu of this page with the respective categories) or directly in the research portal of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg.
